North High School Gymnasium, Bakersfield, CA
This two-part project involved the remodel and addition to the existing administration building including seismic upgrades, sunscreens, and other exposed steel finishes. But by far, the crowning glory is the ground-up new construction of the largest high school gymnasium in the Kern High School district. Steel trusses set the stage at 150 foot long, weighing in at over 40,000 pounds per truss, they support the curved roof along with basketball goals for three separate full-size courts. We have heard said that some
colleges don’t have gyms this big. New locker rooms, lobby and snack bars inside and out finish off this wonderful addition to the North High School campus.
